Walnut Creek Preserve Speaker Series: Using Pollinator Ecology to Support Pollinator Populations

Location: Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center at Walnut Creek Preserve
Speaker: Dr. Hannah Levenson, Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology at NC State University
Join us to learn about the diversity of native bees found in North Carolina and how these species can differ in their habitats and behaviors. Understand what can be done to support these important organisms, as well as what is already being done, through examples of ongoing research throughout NC and beyond.
Dr. Hannah Levenson is a research scholar in the Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology at NC State University and head of the Specialty Crops Integrative Pest and Pollinator Management lab. She is a community ecologist researching how to mitigate human impacts in the environment. Her research focuses on making pest management more sustainable and protecting pollinators, especially in agriculture. She is a bee expert with experience working with both honey bees and native bees in both US and international settings.
