Life is a collection of connections.
Connections to past. Born and raised in Landrum, SC and a Tryon High graduate, my connection to the area is deep. Connections to present. Returning here has reconnected me with the region and people. Connections to future. My dream has always been to be able to give back: to community, to family, to my area.

My grandparents instilled in me the importance of connections. From family get togethers, to living in a family home, to books of family history, I've spent hours with great family stories. I love hearing personal "remember when" stories and learning how those shaped people.

My husband and I chose to return here because of the rich history and natural areas. I love showing our two kids the streams I played in, the places I went, introducing them to old friends, and helping them find new ones. We bought our family home and, while it is a work in progress, it is amazing to tell people that our kids are the 7th generation to live in our home.

Adding value to the community has also been an essential part of my family story through volunteering at church, with my grandmother and Mobile Meals, with my mother at the library and schools, among other places. My family continues the tradition by being a part of our church and schools. Currently, I also serve on the board of Children's Theater Festival (Super Saturday) and the Landrum Rail and History Museum.

Volunteering led me to accounting and working with non-profits, helping simplify finances and reporting. I believe non-profits that we have in this community play a vital role in making us unique.
