About
Inspired by classic Southern decor and featuring a unique mix of elegance and rustic charm, Lola’s Celebration Venue in Saluda, North Carolina is the ideal space for your next special event.
Lola’s encompasses a multi-room upstairs space, a balcony and an outdoor deck that are perfect for social gatherings of all types – weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions, anniversaries, birthday parties, reunions, business retreats, holiday soirees and more. We host small, intimate gatherings to events with up to 200 guests.
Five historically-refurbished rooms plus our lovely balcony allow us to comfortably accommodate your needs. Our outdoor deck is overlooked by our balcony and is the perfect open-air venue for weddings, dances and parties. Our deck can accommodate up to 50 people either by incorporating tables and chairs for a sit-down meal or just keeping the floor clear for dancing. At one end of the deck, the terrace of our charmingly-refurbished barn is the perfect location for a small band or DJ. A lovely waterfall at the opposite end of the deck adds to the natural beauty of our outdoor setting.
Constructed in 1905, the building housing Thompson’s Store on the ground level and Lola’s Celebration Venue on the top floor originally served as a boarding house for the hardy railroad workers who maintained the Saluda Grade, the steepest mainline railway in the United States. While the railroad was crucial to the growth of Saluda, support also came from numerous wealthy families from the lowlands of South Carolina and Georgia. These families built summer homes in Saluda, seeking relief in the cool North Carolina mountains during the hottest months of the year. The room names at Lola’s are a tribute to the communities from which many of those wealthy families came – Charleston, Columbia, Holly Hill and Walterboro in South Carolina and Savannah in Georgia.
