Join us June 23rd – 28th, or July 21st – 26th Dreaming Stone Arts and Ecology Center is repeating its much-beloved day camp for youth, ages 8 to 14! This year we are doubling our capacity and doing two camps! Educational and recreational programming will run from Monday through Friday, June 23rd – 27th, and again on July 21st – 25th. At the end of each week, family and friends are invited to a performance event and community dinner on Saturday evening, (June 28th or July 26th) to experience what the kids learned during the week.
Instructional programs run from 9 am to 2 pm every day (we ask that campers arrive at 8:45 am). Extended activities, including puppet making and theater, will run through 5:00 pm and are available for a limited number of campers.
We’re gonna rinse and repeat our tried and true offering. Dreaming Stone is excited to welcome back Tree Sa of Soma Tree Cirque Yoga to lead campers in aerial and flow arts. In addition, campers will receive West African Drumming instruction with Jay Beck and outdoor education with Rutherford Outdoor Coalition. Each day will include unique programs that support healthy imaginations, creative expression, and appreciation for nature. If campers elect to stay the full day, they will have additional opportunities to engage in giant puppet crafts, theater, and outdoor recreation. Our camp features local naturalists, horticultural experts, and special teaching artists.
Campers will be served nutritious snacks. Should we secure adequate funding, we will continue our tradition of providing lunches that are partially sourced from Dreaming Stone’s garden. Together, we will build a culture of respect that values our diverse gifts and unique interests.
Then, family and friends come together on Saturday to share food and enjoy an informal sharing of the skills and lessons learned at camp. It’s the best of family fun!
Programmed Time (9 am – 2 pm) – $250 Extended Activities (9 am – 5 pm) – $325
