Saluda Library Speaker Series: The Snakes of Polk and Henderson Counties

Speaker: Alan Cameron
Alan will discusses the 18 non-venomous and two venomous species of snakes that inhabit Polk and Henderson Counties. This includes some aspects of their life history, reproduction, dealing with problem snakes, the danger of venomous snake bites and treating such bites for both humans and pets.
Alan Cameron has been a volunteer with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission for the last 20 years. His primary interest is in the rare and endangered Green Salamander but he also works on numerous other listed animal species including several kinds of snakes.
